Bottle-necked beacon pier light welcomes
visitors to the park.
It is one of only two bottle-necked lighthouses to be
found on the Seaway Trail. The other is at the Buffalo Main
Lighthouse.
They are built of boiler plate and stand about
thirty feet high. They are distinguished by four cast iron port windows and
a curved iron door.
They are equipped with the smallest Fresnal lens and
send out a green or red beam which is produced by using a colored chimney
around the lens.
